I have been using Dvd shrink and Nero express 6.0 and had no problems but when I try to burn I get a message on Nero saying compliance test failed any help appreciated.

I just bought a new LG GSA-4120 burner - my first - and had a similar problem. I could rip using DVD Decrypter, compress using DVD Shrink, but when I tried to burn the files using Nero, it kept failing. The burn also failed in CloneDVD.
I did a bit of searching on this forum and others, and it is clear that tere are some people do have trouble buring DVDs using Nero - not sure why. Anyway, I tried burning using both DVDFab and CopyToDVD, and they both worked fine - to use CopyToDVD, I created an ISO file and that went fine, but I also worked out how to burn the TS_VIDEO folder direct in that program. DVDFab is also good and easy to use. I am going to try burning with DVD Shrink and see how that goes.
The upshot is that you don't need the bells and whistles of Nero to burn DVDs. I have no idea why it's failing - perhaps it's something to do with its burning engine.
I initially wondered if it was my IDE controller - I have a Pentium 4 with SIS chipset, and the SIS IDE drivers have been criticised before as being a bit suspect. But the fact that I can get a successful burn with these other programs suggests that this is not the problem.
I am inclined to give Nero the flick entirely, because I have also been getting failed burns with my Yamaha F1 CD burner of late, and I am wondering if recent Nero versions are the problem.

I don't have an answer to your problem but I do have another question. :)
Why not just burn with DVD-Decryptor or DVDShrink directly? Is there a reason why you don't wanna use these programs? Only reason I ask is because I am using those to burn and just wondering if there is a reason not to.

@coaa: burning with dvddecrypter is a nice hint, afaik dvdshrink uses nero routines to burn though, so either both of them or none are gonna work!
@wol: apart from your nero serial, which i actually don't want to know, i found nothing unusual in the log, perhaps you can find something in the Nero FAQ on ahead.de/en: http://www.ahead.de/en/631926441166085.html
