Hello,
I wonder why I get the following message "WARNING! Opening GOP is not closed! The first few frames may not be decoded correctly." in DGIndex when opening my ripped VOB file? I used DVD Decrypter 3.2.2.0 to rip the DVD. Can anyone give me some hint?
Thanks,
StainlessSteel

Thanks for the hint. Unfortunately it didn't help because the past topic's GOP problem seems to be linked to an extraordinary file name. Mine is quite simple and I still get that error.

You are getting the warning (it's not an error) because the opening GOP is not closed. :)
Maybe that isn't a starting VOB, or you cut the VOB, or maybe it is a mastering error. In any case, it is really harmless because DGDecode will replace those frames with good ones and it's not really worth worrying about 2 frames at the start of a movie.
Technically, the first GOP of your VOB is starting with B frames that cannot be decoded. Sometimes when a GOP starts with B frames, they use backward prediction only and set a flag (closed_gop) indicating that. Your VOB starts with B frames but has no closed_gop flag, so those B frames are formally undecodable. That is why the warning is given.

Thanks a lot for the info. It's only one VOB and even the first on the DVD. So I guess it's a mastering error. Well, at least it's not a failure during the ripping process.
