How come DIF4U (and DoCCE4U/BatchCCE) always flags the video files as Interlaced when viewing the AVS with Media player doesn't show any combing.
I never quite understood why this happened, but I never had any problems when watching the end result.

We're talking PAL? It seems to be quite hard to correctly judge the frames of PAL video. MAin movies are mostly progressive, but judged interlaced. Encoding progressive as being interlaced doesn't hurt, encoding is a bit slower though.
I've tested an analysis tool by eyes`only that worked well for correctly judging it, but so far he didn't implement this into dif4u (for PAL)

ok, yes, it's PAL
so if I'm to judge, I can go with what I see in Media Player ?
And if I was to set it to progressive in BatchCCE, should I uncheck Alternate scan and check Progressive ?
And while I'm at it, am I correct that inverting the field order in the filename (DIF4U option) is no longer necessary with the latest BatchCCE ?
I'm curious about this new tool though, keep up the work !

Your eyes are usually a very good tool to judge if something's interlaced ;) Also the field order judgement from tmpgenc is very good (open your video asset in the wizard and it will analyse it).
For progressive sources you can check progressive and the alternate setting doesn't matter that much.
And yes the invert field order setting is no longer required with latest batchcce and new cce versions.
Are you sure you're not deinterlacing in your AVS?

I do not deinterlace if you're asking me.
No, I was trying to make sure the OP wasn't checking his avs files for combing if he is deinterlacing..
