I have muxed a subtitle stream into a .mpg using spumux. Now I want to watch the .mpg with the subtitles. What player can I use for that? I tried PowerDVD but with no luck (subtitles are disabled).

Hi,

which muxing mode did you use? dvd or svcd/cvd? I have no experience playing back "naked" mpgs, players might require a properly authored disc.

For svcd, use mpc. It is currently the only soft player that supports selectable svcd subs. Although the feature is rather new, it worked OK for me.

If you want playback on a pc only, use dvobsub to overlay subs at playback time.

No, ít'll have other use. But i want to watch the mpg with the subtitles to see if they're nice.

You might have to do the dvdauthor step as well... the players I tested (only WinDVD & MPC atm) wanted a complete set of vob/ifo files, sub playback from an isolated subbed .vob file failed.
