avi to svcd problem

I'm trying to convert an AVI (608x256,Xvid,mp3 VBR) to SVCD to put it with other svcd into a DVD-r.I always get the error:unable to read from file "name directory"/encoded_audio_1.mp2.
What's wrong?I tried a search but i can't find somethin useful.

Hi,

as always, posting the logfile would make it easier to figure out what went wrong, perhaps some audio de/encoding error.

Other than that, did you check to see if the file encoded_audio_1.mp2 is actually there? Make sure you don't have spaces or special chars in the "name directory". Better still, post the logfile :).

Have a look in the sticky index. There is a sticky on AVI2... conversions which may help you.

Failing that, it would be easier to advise you if you could cut and paste the contents of dvd2svcd_log and Encoded_Audio_1_log files into a reply to this post. They can be found in your output folder.

try to demux audio and convert it to constant bite rate, or simply process file in VirtualDubMod,seting direct video copy and audio to something with cbr.

OK. Besweet didn't do anything!

What has happened is audio extraction failed leaving Be?Sweet nothing to convert. So no output file was created by BeSweet and therefore cannot be found by bbMPEG for muxing with the video.

Download VDubMod. Open your avi in it. Go to Streams menu > Streams list and click on Save Wav. Save the audio to your DVD2SVCD movie output folder as Encoded_audio_1.mp2.wav
It is important you get that filename exactly correct.

Now go to Windows Start menu and select Run, then cut and paste this into the box:

Audio conversion should now take place. When it finishes, relaunch DVD2SVCD, go to the misc tab and crash-recover from Muxing and Cutting.

It should finish OK from there.

Thanks!That wway worked but what was twrong?How can i avoid this for the future?

There was an error in the audio in the avi file. If you do the trick in the sticky of opening the file in vdub and then resaving it, you will not got this error.

However, to do that in this case would have meant stqrting the encode again from the beginning so I directed you on how to rescue the encode you'd done.
