FX capture problems

ive an MSI GeForce FX5600 with VIVO .. normally before every capture ive to take 10mins to config. the capture drivers options like pal,res. etc. as it resets every time .. & i mostly use Sony Vegas 5 or Virtualdub VCR (testing) for capture. but of late im having more problems .. im mostly not getting any video in .. i checked my cables, uninstalled & reinstalled drivers to WDM 2.20, installed directx9.0b patch(pal,NTSC fix) etc.etc and i got video in back .. but again today it goes blank .. ive no idea what to do .. even though i used to get these problems b'for they mostly get fixed after restart.. not now ... i did notice my increasing error frequency after i started using 2 monitors (horizontal panning) but it did work on dual monitors .. anyway i tried using single display .. or mebe its after i started more capture :-)

when i use vegas to capture it gives a black screen & when i try vdub it says some other program is using it .. now thats impossible as i quit almost everything .. and i still get the error .. anyone any ideas ..

the thing is ive got problems like this b'fore & i dont know of a definite step by step procedure to fix it .. trial & error doesnt seem so bright after so long ...

I think "IUVCR" is best capture software.

i did that 3-4 times and installed the latest drivers ..

still not working .. i'll try re-installing my os
