Hi there!
I've been capturing old VHS tapes to MPEG2 with LPCM audio (that's the only way I can get good results without frame drops).I then tried to convert the extracted wav audio file into MP2 file, and later multiplex it with the video file (I'm using TMPG mpeg tools for that). The thing is: it worked once and I got it all right but lately after I multiplex I get no synch. Is it a problem with the conversion or the multiplex process? This is Besweet's log :

Try encoding the wav into mp2 using tooLame. There is a GUI for tooLame if you don't like the command line. tooLame can also be used with BeSweet.

Some people have been posting that TMPGEnc sometimes causes sync errors after muxing. You might want to try a different muxing program.

Hi There. I had a similar problem. I experimented with the millisecond delay option in BeSweet. In my case a delay of 80ms fixed the sync issue. I used TMPGEnc just as you did, and was capturing from VHS just as you were. Try playing around with this setting using a short captured segment.

Could it be that I already have toolame (there's a "2LAME" option in BeSweet)?Anyway,it worked that way, thanks. There's another question:the mp2 file I get is a little bit louder than the original (and also has this "hiss" sound in the background). Can you tell me how I can adjust it ?
