Is there a rule of thumb? I'm inclined to do the color correction as the last step before compression for DVD, but I wonder if anyone else has a thought on this? Would boosting luma and contrast help the noise reduction work better? Thanks for any advice!

Well I might just do that... haha! Though I figured this must've been covered before and there must be some conventional wisdom out there.

I always do it right after decombing (if needed) and cropping. I believe that it's better to give the denoiser material which is closer to the final output (same colors and luma level, that is).
