HELLO!!

This is my very first post on this forum.but i'm viewing this site
for nearly 2 years now annd i have to say that this is by far the best site that deals with encoding and everything that comes with it.

I actually became a member just resently because i'm using this forum
mainly to increase my knowledge.Just like learning to know to ride a bike,i think you also have to learn how to use a forum. You won't believe how many questions i had and how tempting it was to pos,but after reading the forum rules and all i thougt i just gonna read my way tru it in the hope to find my anwser.

And beyond my wildest expectations i found my anwsers 9 out of 10 times. That's wy its taken so long for me to become a member because i had no questions to post.I do would like to say that i still am amazed how some of the people go to great lenghts to help us all.
The main thing that makes this site stand out above the rest is that
the creator's of the majority of the tools i'm using are actualy part of the moderating team. And you know what they say that nobody knows it better than the creators them selve.

that brings me to my question or better said a sugestion:

i like many others use the gkot tool,i think it's the best enc tool out there. But sometimes i maybe stroll on a little problem. Then igo to the gknot forum and stroll to see if there are any answers.i also now that auto gk is also very in demand as seen in the amount of questions on the forum that brings me to my sugestion

if i wanna look for anwsers i sometimes have to work my way tru the auto gk questions(a tool that i don't use)So i was think would it be more efficient to split them up and give autgk it's own forum so that the autogk questions go over there and the gnot questions go to the gnot forum.

I think the overview will be a little bit better. It would be the same as if i had a question about xvid and go to the xv form and i have to work my way tru divx questions. That's wy they also have there on forum.

phieeww!!!!Well that was it my first post.I do wan't to appologize for the long intro and my bad englisch, but i just wan't to take this chance to thank you for all the wonderfull work you do and bassicly being responsable for the knowledge i have about encoding so far,and that the work and effort you put in this site and helping us is widely appreciated. My next questions will be straight to the point.

A good day to you all

Hi, and welcome to the forum-

All that writing for one simple suggestion? :)

Well, that big AutoGK thread in the Development forum has become kind of a joke, as you can't find anything in there anymore. I think we're going for some kind of a Views record. Maybe we'll stop at a million. :)

We already have the GKnot and the GKnot Development forums, so I don't see getting a new forum specifically for AutoGK. Even the DivX Forum handles both DivX 5.x.x and DivX 3.11 questions, so there is a precedent for this sort of thing. If you have searched before posting a question, I don't think anyone's going to yell at you here. We're pretty forgiving. Or you can try the Newbies Forum where they're even more forgiving of short-time members.

And I agree that it's pretty cool to see guys like len0x here, the DXN guys posting in the DivX Forum, neuron2 and sh0dan in the AviSynth Forum, neuron2 in the DVD2AVI forum, dvd2svcd in the DVD2SVCD Forum, DSPguru in Audio, LIGHTNING UK! in Decrypting, Gabest in Subtitles, Koepi and Nic in XviD, and the various DVD tool developers in their respective forums. These are the heavy hitters in their respective fields, and they're all right here at Doom9 (shameless plug).
