Hi, first I wanna say that I'am newbie to scenarist, but learning through tutorials on dvd-replica. My problem is that they don't cover subtitle selection, so if anyone could give me some tips.

My idea is to have one main menu with link to setup menu, where are listed names of subpicture languages. When apropriate language is selected, then player returns to main menu and main movie is then shown with selected subpictures. I need just some basic directions which commands use etc. - no step by step guide :-).

Another question is maybe even more stupid, but what is the difference between menu created under language in VideoManager and the same menu directly under VTS. What is the purpose of VideoManager? There is no specific infos in DVD-Replica guides and they are creating first menu in VMGR and reste (setup) menus directly in VTS. It has any special meaning? Because i dont know how to navigate back from VTS menu to VMGR menu with button assigned MovGPMS+link command...

Thnx for help :D

When apropriate language is selected, then player returns to main menu and main movie is then shown with selected subpictures. Once you've created buttons on the language setup menu, choose as a button command Set Angle/Audio/Sub-picture. Uncheck Audio and Angle boxes, set Subpicture Stream ID as required, check Display Subpicture. Then click on Link box, select Jump to PGC, and select the main menu PGC.

If your project has only one VTS, you don't need to create VMG. If you have to create more than one VTS, you'll quickly figure out what VMG is for. Also, VMG contains Title menu (the one you get to by pressing Title button on the remote).

I did it this way, multiplexed DVD and tried to play, but PowerDVD 5 failed after selecting subtitle button. It just jumped to STOP screen of PDVD5, so I tought it is wrong way of linking buttons ;-)

And BTW what is the basic reason for creating multiple VTS in one title? Different aspect ratio of video, like 16:9 main movie and 4:3 bonuses?

Yes, video with different aspect ratio must be located in separate VTS.
