View Full Version : Can't use mp3 codecs in Vegas 5

When I try to encode a video in Vegas 5 using an mp3 codec (whether lame or fraunhofer radium) for audio encoding, Vegas replies that an error occurred while opening a codec and refuses to continue. However, using ogg acm codec or uncompressed pcm for audio works fine.

I am pretty sure that mp3 codecs are properly installed on my system, I can use them without any probs in other video editing programmes, like virtualdubmod. Has somebody else encountered this problem and have you got a solution?

This is a very late reply because I found your message when searching for: lame acm mp3.

The Lame ACM codec doesn't work in Vegas. I get an error message.

But I can use the Radium MP3 codec. I just tried it with ffdshow MPEG-4 for video compression and Radium MP3 for audio compression. No errors.
