NTSC_M or NTSC_M_J ?

I use VirtualVCR to capture NTSC tapes.

In the settings I can select between

NTSC_M and NTSC_M_J

What's the difference ? And which one should be used ?

NTSC_M_J seems to give me much beter picture quality.

NTSC_M is the 'standard' flavour of NTSC used in the US.
IIRC NTSC_M_J is the japanese version of NTSC.

The difference is in the signal level associated with black.
America uses 7.5 IRE, Japan 0 IRE.

Is there anyway to change the setting in AIW Tuner to accept and capture NTSC J???

i cant seem to capture any of my japanese videos with the tuner. I can capture american NTSC just fine.

Also can i can capture NTSC J tapes using Virtual VCR???

Use the Video in and not the Tuner.
