Hi there!

I have just realize there's some timing error when using DVD-Rb on my DVD player (Pionner). It's not a big deal, movies are playing great but the timer telling how much time the movie has played stop between 40 to 75 minutes...

Like i said, no big deal but just to let you know! Does anyone else have that problem?

Many people have been reporting problems with Pioneer players and DVD Rebuilder. Read some of the other posts to get more info or do a search.

A couple weeks ago I remember somebody posted in one of the threads, that the reason there were problems with Pioneers is that the player strictly follows the DVD standard and problems might be encountered if something is slighty off. For some reason this post stuck in my mind. I had based my statement on that post. I do not own a Pioneer player. When Xuivo mentioned Pioneer, that post jumped back into my memory.

I can't find that post now.

EDIT: I went back and read the 40 something page and the 50 something page bug report threads. In the early versions of DVD Rebuilder users reported audio/subtitle/stutter errors with Pioneer players, but had said they worked on other brands. I see that you replied to them and have fixed the bugs since then. I guess that post I referred to was correct, but it was old since you fixed the audio stutter and subtitle problem.

Disregard my post then if all the bugs are fixed.

Yeah, i did not find a thread refering specically to that. The only thing weird is that it's doing this timer thing with only a couple of movie i've done with dvd-rb. The timer just stop. I'le try to see if it's at the end of a VOB or chapter.

Another thing weird.. Subtitle just stop showing after a while, but if I rewind for 10 seconds a couple of time, it comes back for the rest of the movie? any info on those?

I've got a Philips DVD625, noticed the same error (I think).
Sometimes counter isn't correct, when next chapter begins it usually corrects itself.
Ex: End (let's say 1 minute before the end) of chapter 2 is 15.00min (time passed since begin of movie), when new chapter begins my player correct itself by jumping to 18.45min (just an example).
This doesn' give any visual errors, it's only the display of my player that seems to be out of sync.

Not sure if it's corrected in 0.52a, I'll do some tests & let you know.

Sorry about the wait jdobbs.

I've did another test and the problem is there in 0.52. This was the one i was using anyway. So problem with the timer, but i did not got any problem with the subtiles.

Got an anwser for both. I recently did last samurai, the strange thing i've noticed is that the english subtiles disapear right after the film was showing "in movie" subtiles, going from japanese to english (my subtiles were in french).

Is this problem still present in v0.67 or 0.68??

i had pioneer dvd player model : dv-505, dv-515 & dv-270-s.
not sure this related to the timer issue or not (only happened with dv-505,dv-515):
encode many disc using DVD-RB 0.67,0.68 (no preprocessing),
so far only one movie that will pause after the FBI warning and other production notice on the beginning of the movie, it just pause there and not jump to the dvd Main Menu, have to press the remote 'menu' button.
Also some movie if let it play finished til to the timer end (show in the player), it will not jump to the first play or Main Menu, just pause there, have to press the remote 'menu' button.
cheers.

I suspect that this problem is still there, and has the same root cause that I posted here:
