Can't de-mux avi files

I have been unable to de-mux avi files using vdubmod for the past week. The files load ok. Everthing works fine all the way up to save as avi or demux ac3. Once I hit the the save that window closes normally but the progress window never opens and of course nothing happens. I can transfer the avi to another computer on my home net and everything works fine. Anyone have any ideas how I can fix this.
