I am attempting to download DIF4U from the downloads page http://www.doitfast4u.com/downloads.cfm and none of the links to the executables are working:
http://www.doitfast4u.com/downloads/DoItFast4U.v.1.4.0.exe
I don't see any links to mirror sites. Should I be looking somewhere else for the file?
I've attempted using the contact form on their web site, but it also barfs.

Yes it seems the website has some problems. Hopefully they will be resolved quickly. I don't have this version myself unfortunately. Maybe someone else can send it to you.

sorry guys, I have no idea what the issue is. I can FTP to the site and see the files in that directory just fine... it has to be permissions issues on the web server itself, as far I can tell. I've tried contacting the owner of the box but have been unsuccessful in resolving my issues so far. I'm still trying though!

Hi,
I too have problems getting in touch with the server... Doing a traceroute to the web-server (www.doitfast4u.com [209.205.155.73]) gives me (the last couple of hops):
18 173 ms 173 ms 172 ms ndcr2.datasync.net [208.231.96.2]
19 173 ms 173 ms 175 ms mspr1-nospr1.datasync.net [209.205.128.9]
20 238 ms 183 ms 177 ms gulfcoastlaundry.mspr1.datasync.net [209.205.128.190]
21 gulfcoastlaundry.mspr1.datasync.net [209.205.128.190] reports: Destination host unreachable.
Seem to be an IP routing problem somewhere ??

I'm frustrated as hell, guys and gals. No response when I try to contact the webserver's owner through email, phone, etc. If anyone that knows who he is does talk to him, please ask him what is going on and if there's anything I can help do to expedite this process! Is he mad at me for something?
For now, DVDR Digest hosts a copy of the last final here (http://www.dvdr-digest.com/software/doitfast4u.html).
If you would like to join the VIPs, make a minimum of a $15 donation using paypal via this link (https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_xclick&business=doitfast4u@cox.net&currency_code=USD&cn=Additional%20Comments&tax=0&submit.x=30&submit.y=22&no_shipping=1&item_name=Donations%20to%20help%20improve%20DoItFast4U!).
Rest assured, you will be added to VIP and receive an email stating the workaround I've got going so that people can obtain the beta.
Sorry again, I'm as clueless as you all! (It's really frustrating me because I finally have some time to work on some additions for 1.4.8 but I have no easy way of moderating distribution and my VIP list is/was on that SQL database on the same box!)

Hi,
Could you make a mirror of the Scenaid file for DIF4U 1.4.0 as well?
Been looking for it for quiet some time now but can't find it anywhere.
Thx!

Good news! Well, bad news too but still some good news.
Bad news first: Site will be down for a bit more (week? not sure)
Good news: The box owner has been contacted. Apparently the person who had the box co-located quit his job, and the company pulled the plug on all the servers. We're re-locating, and will be up soon-ish. The project lives on!
And yes, the workaround is sufficing for now. ;)

more bad news: My C: drive died on me, and took with it all the info I had about donators, etc. Not to mention many more saved emails that had information relative to my livelihood. Anyway, I'm working on getting everything re-installed and such, but it may take several days. When it rains it pours, I guess. Thankfully, DoItFast4U source code was on the H: drive.

You might be happy to know that there are some tools which can restore some data on a broken HDD(at least if the HDD isn't totally broken). One of them is "Easy recovery" which saved my life the last time my HDD died. Fortunately, the vital data were not on the damaged part. It takes some time to recover the data but it's worth the try.
But you must know that these tools can also totally damage your disks if they were only partially damaged.
Good luck, and BTW thank you for your great soft.

I'm actually thinking of giving r-tools a try, but thanks for the concern. It may not be necessary if I dig around long enough to find my backed-up source on cdr :)

does anyone have a link to version 1.4.7? All i can find on the forum are links to 1.4.0 which i already have, but i need/want .7. Earlier someone said that it would be hosted on the Scenaid website, but it's nowhere to be found.
1.4.7 is only available to VIP members...
if you are a VIP member, email Eyes`Only and see if he can get you a DL

Yes, he actually does, but I couldn't get in touch with him when I posted that. I've since gotten in touch with him and have word that the site should be up and running (download engine may be hosed but that'll get fixed soon too) tonight or tommorrow, with all the VIP database intact!
