I had a look through the faqs and couldn't find much about AVI2DVD. Source is 640x272. Encoded video is vertically stretched. I am using the latest DVD2SVCD build and this is the first time I have tried it....never had this problem before. Am I using thewrong resize method, as I left it at the default. Here's the log....

WARNING! You seem to be using "Norton Unerase Protection" and
you want to delete the temporary files created by dvd2svcd.
This can cause DVD2SVCD problems. Even though DVD2SVCD deletes
the temporary files, Norton doesn't, therefore DVD2SVCD
might run into diskspace problems. I suggest that you stop the
"Norton Unerase Protection" Service.

Sorry if this is something really obvious, but ive never needed to alter anything before, thus my ignorance.

Yep.
Known issue with the latest build.
The author experimented with new resizing methods, it didn't work out so he reverted to the old way. Except somewhere down the line it all went awry and now the resizing doesn't work properly.

For AVI2DVD I recommend you use one of the resizing plugins (FACAR, AutoFitCD). It means a full re-encode I'm afraid.

Thanks. At least I know now that I didn't screw anything up.....this time. :)

Can anyone fill me in on how to set this FACAR up? I installed it and changed only the "Resize to" value to 7. It stopped before encoding saying "Frame size 800x80 is not supported". What have/haven't I done?

I'm not using FACAR, but seems it is not going to solve your problem...

FACAR will do AVIs only if they have NTSC/PAL PAR, which is very, very unlikely. Typical AVIs are square pixel sources.
FitCD does, however, allow you to specify 1:1 PAR on a sourcecc

You can try a manual resizing, editing your avisynth script.

Yeah, it didn't like the colour format and I can't find a download of FitCD 1.1.2 to use with AutoFitCD. :(

Of course, Google was the first place I looked after the link in the sticky failed. Thanks for the link too. :) I did actually just edit the AVISynth script. Worked a treat and nowhere near as scary as I thought.
