dvd's wont play on some players

I am a complete newbie here and have used DVD Shrink ok
I have 2 TV DVD's and Orittron and Proline1040
the oritron plays them all but tother is a no go saying no disc
Am I missing something about copying or is there a cunning move to be done to the 1040??
please be aware I have only 3 brain cells of which only 1 works
yr indulgance and help please

hi and welcome to the forum,
check the media compatibility list between the media and the standalones used over at www.dvdrhelp.com

As you could have found out by searching the forum a bit not all standalones accept all brands of dvd+/-r media!
