Is this possible to change position of forced subtitles so that they appear at the bottom in the black portion of 16/9 movies ?

Hi-

Based on your other thread, I'm guessing that you're referring to AutoGK. You said Forced Subs, but you didn't say if they are burned in or external. You can't put burned in subs in the black, because AutoGK cuts out all of the black and burns them into the video. The black you see when playing the video full screen is added by the player.

But, you can position the external subs so that they play in the black. Double-click the Green DirectVobSub arrow that appears in the SysTray when playing movies with external subs. Then go General Tab->Picture Size->Extend To 4:3.

You can further position them by opening the .idx file and where it says:

# Origin, relative to the upper-left corner, can be overloaded by aligment
org: 0,0

Change the second number to raise them (a negative value) or lower them (a positive value). So:

# Origin, relative to the upper-left corner, can be overloaded by aligment
org: 0,-30

will raise them a bit.

Ack! All that writing for nothing! :)

Yes, the burned in subs are the same as the original. But then, so are the external VobSubs. If you really want burned in subs down in the black, you'll have to use GKnot, and then don't crop the bottom black part.

You can lower the subs a bit by using the trick I mentioned in the previous post.
