DVD-Rom Firmware

i tried to update my pioneer DVD-117RD firmware with a new region free firmware.
everything work right and when i cheched my DVD-Rom with this software (Drive Region infov2.2) it said:
This Drive Has No Region Protection

but when i tried to run region 1 dvd-movie while my dvd-rom stucked before at region 2, it gave me 5 times to change the region and until now i have 3 times left, is this normal or after i finish it again it will stuck at one region only

i used this firmware: Pioneer DVD-117 v1.07 RPC-1
and the old one was v1.05

and also the ripping speed still 1.5 as max

i don't know what to do to increase it
any suggestions

Besides flashing your firmware, you need tweak Windows' settings. There are some programs at the download section. It is also possible that you have a evil :D firmware which will reset back to 5 changes after it has reached 0.
