took me 2 hours but i got xvids to play smoothly, but now the audio slips every couple seconds and i have to stop and play the movie to get it back. ive tried installing many dif audio patches but i think im doing something wrong. can someone help me out this is getting reaaaally annoying.

actually now that i check again, the picture is going to. the picture freezes every once in a while for like 2-7 seconds

I take it that you try to watch a homevideo of a friend of yours? Anyway, uninstall all suspicous codec-packs that you might have, then install something fitting from packs.matroska.org and visit the ffdshow-thread in the New A/V Formats forum to get an up-to-date version of it.

And this topic isn't really XviD-related BTW.

i recomend that you use this media player if this player cant play it ok then the video you have is probably screwed.

http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

this player uses its own codecs which makes it very useful for playing back all video files.
