slipping audio in xvid file

hi, took me 2 hours but i got xvids to play smoothly but now the audio slips every couple seconds and i have to stop and play the movie to get it back. ive tried installing many dif audio patches but i think im doing something wrong. can someone help me out this is getting reaaaally annoying

well i run it thru gspot and all i get is

any idea what audio patch i need if that is what the problem is?

I'm not sure what you mean my "audio patch" your audio is in mp3 format. Have you looked here? http://www.doom9.org/virtualdub_procedures.htm#Audio_delay
look at "Delaying an audio track"
Do you mean that the audio is in sync if you stop and press play again?
If so i would say that your computer can't handle the video file. maybe the resolution is too big, or your cpu is too small;).
This is quiet hard as you didn't answer any of my questions ;)

and yea the video goes back in sync for a couple seconds if i press down on the slide bar so it reloads the spot. im using real player to view

I would have to say that with out any more info (hint hint;) ) that your computer jsut can't handle it. You can configure your decoder to the lowest setting , that should speed things up a bit. (no postprocesing, no decoing options etc) Try using FFDshow as well.

and as for the file i have no idea how it was encoded i wasnt the one who did it and the person that did it isnt speaking to me =/
