DVD Splitting Problem

I split my DVD into 2 folders Disc1 and Disc2, using IfoEdit0.96 with everything as default. And I added all the VTS ifo files to both directories. Then I opened VIDEO_TS.ifo of disc1 with IfoEdit and click region free, get VTS sectors and saved the file. After reopened it simply doesn't play. After I click DVD Play, I notice that under DVD Play->Jump->chapter it's blank ( it seems no chapters there. But DVD Play->Jump->title is full. I tried several times the same thing happened. When I open the VIDEO_TS.IFO of the original film, it plays fine. Please help.

BTW, I did DVD splitting a year ago, it worked perfect. I don't know what happened.

And I added all the VTS ifo files to both directories.It may be possible that certain VTSs need to be played out but since you only have the IFOs and not the VOBs to go with them, that's probably why it's hanging. You could try converting all your unwanted VTS PGCs' Post Commands to Pre commands using this guide (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=50245).

Also, there are other ways to split DVDs. There's been mentions of DVDFab but the way I usually do it is totally blanking out certain VTSs. Sometimes, it works out that I have the movie on one disk and the extras on the other. If the movie only disk was a tad big to fit, I had used DVD Shrink. Most of the time, I'll be probably be doing around 90 something % compressing. You won't notice any difference in quality at these %s. Anyway, with the above done, you will still retain a valid DVD structure.

Thank you for your advice. I will try again. I remember that a year ago when I tried to split a DVD, sometimes I have to add the VOB file as well and then it worked. I don't know why.

I tried adding the VOB files but it is still the same. It says "GetNumberOfChapters Failed".
