Hi.
I am using the new big3 guide to backup a DVD.
I have come all the way up to where I load scenarist, import the Scenaid.scp file and after it loads all tracks, I hit START in the Layout Editor tab and wait for Scenarist to complete. However, after waiting for around 3-4 minutes, I see a popup window saying :
Error Detected. See information window.
So that's what the information window (under build) says...
Info Encoding subpicture "D:\1\VTS01\subs\VTS_01_VSUB_P1A1-01-L\VTS_01_VSUB_P1A1-01-L-Greek_0953.bmp"
Info Multiplexing VOB "D:\1\mux_data\\Human-VTS01P01_t.vob".
Info Multiplexing VOB Main Stream
Error Audio stream #1 has been finished before expected.
Error The audio file "D:\1\VTS01\VTS__01_P01-80-448K-[0ms]-ch6English.AC3" might be corrupted or shorter than expected.
Error (read = 150199 audio frames , expected = 189909 audio frames)
Error dvd_mux : DoMux Multiplexing Error
Error Terminated Multiplexing (Human-VTS01P01_t.vob).
Error Can't read the input stream.
Error Multiplex is failed.
Error Multiplexing failed, Track "VTS01P01"
Error MuxFromDB:MuxVTS failed
Error Multiplex failed
Error DVD Video files could not be created
Unfortunately, I don't know what to do... Can anyone help me out ?
Just to let you know, I deleted the ISO image of the DVD that was saved to my drive just before hitting START in Scenarist, because I didn't have much diskspace... Hopefully this isn't the reason for my problem.
I thought that from this point on, the ISO file would not be needed since (I thought) that all programs gather their information from my working directory on the hard disk (the one created by DIF4U at the very beginning of the backup process). Did I f*ck up the whole process by deleting the ISO file ? Will it be needed from now on until the end of the backup process ?
Thanks in advance for any help. I'm using Scenarist 3, by the way.

Through a search I found the following suggested solution :
Right click on your audio track, choose data --> place holder, then place holder --> data.
Although after performing the task, Scenarist says : Right click on your audio track, choose data --> place holder, then place holder --> data. this trick didn't work. I still get the same error, and still the error says that (read = 150199 audio frames , expected = 189909 audio frames), meaning that the duration was in fact not changed at all.
After reading through a few threads for the current problem (ac3 shorter than expected), all members who had this problem, were actually only 2 frames short. Mine is 39710 (!) frames short, which of course seems to much, judging by other members similar posts...
I also read that the problem occurs because of the Delaycorrection applied when creating the streams. Well, I have to admit that I used an AC3 Correction threshold of 30 ms in DIF4U and NM4U instead of the default 40 ms those progrmas had... Maybe that's the reason why I am so many frames short ? Aalthough I doubt that any delay correction was applied to that track, since the filename quotes it as having 0 ms delay and there is also no AC3 log created for this file.
BTW, I played the AC3 file in PowerDVD and found it to be 1:29:29 minutes long, whereas the movie itself (.m2v file) is 1:41:17 minutes long. However, the AC3 file ends correctly with the end credits music, so I don't believe that its last 11 minutes are cut and furthermore, Scenarist's property browser recognizes the AC3 file as being 1:41:17 minutes long, so I guess there's no problem there (PowerDVD is known to report wrong track durations in the past as well).
Any help on what to do now ?
P.S. : When loading the ac3 file into delaycut, it gives the following info for it :
====== INPUT FILE INFO ========================
File is ac3
Bitrate (kbit/s) 448
Act rate (kbit/s) 448.000
File size (bytes) 340329472
Channels mode 3/2: L+C+R+SL+SR
Low Frec Effects LFE: Present
Duration 01:41:17.312
Frame length (ms) 32.000000
Frames/second 31.250000
Num of frames 189916
Bytes per Frame 1792
Size % Framesize 0
CRC present: YES
=============================================
So the ac3 file has 189916 frames. I don't know why Scenarist think it only has 150199...

are you using the newest scenaid? the older one had a problem with short audios .. some pgcs (lots of wb dvds have this during their logo pgc) have only audio during part of the pgc. the new version seams to handle audio way better (at least in the dvds ive done with it so far)
also you can just delete the audio streams in the track editor view (note which audios where in what positions) and drop them directly from windows explorer into the track view in the proper order

Thanks for replying. I am using Scenaid 0.9.0.5. I tried both newest versions of Scenaid (0.9.0.23 and 0.9.0.24), however they both crash for different reasons. I'll try to ask for help with Scenaid in order to be able to run the newest versions and see if the problem continues. But in the meantime, if someone has another solution, please post away.
Thanks.

Well, bad news I'm afraid...
I tried the latest version of Scenaid (0.9.0.24) with the "fix ac3 delay" options enabled under the Audio Options, and unfortunately, the same error still comes up in Scenarist. I also turned the "fix ac3 delay" options off and still the same error appears.
Furthermore, I tried what Trahald suggested as well (delete the file in Track View of Scenarist and manually re-add it by drag & drop through Windows Explorer, but still no luck. So I guess it's not a problem with Scenaid but it's something else...
To what it's worth, after Scenarist imports the .scp file, in the Information window I get the following comments :
Import tab:
Info -----------------------------------------
Info Start Importing
Info ------ Reading script ------
Info Importing MODIFIER VERSION
Info This script was created with an older verson of Scenarist. It will be converted.
Info Importing Data
Info Importing VTS1_Assets
Info Importing VTS01_001
Info Importing VTS01_002
e.t.c...
General tab:
Warning CineMaster or Netstream MPEG decoder is not present or the driver is not installed.
Warning Hardware decoding of video will not work.
I don't know if these messages have anything to do with the problem...
I'm trying to overcome the problem almost 36 hours now and it's really getting me desperate and dissapointed... It's my first backup and I'm all stuck.
Any help to deal with the problem will be greatly appreciated...
What is going wrong ?
Thanks in advance.

After some pms and an IRC chat we have determined that the ac3 file was corrupt (we tested it with something else) . so we got it sorted out.

Yes, thanks a lot Trahald for helping me out here.
I really appreciate it, mate.
I couldn't imagine that the AC3 file was indeed corrupt since it played flawlessly in Power DVD, however it turned out that it WAS corrupt... Heh, who might have thought...
Once again, thanks a lot. ;)
