I just finished burning a dvd with TMPGEnc DVD authoring tool and it plays great on my PC DVD player. But when I insert it into my home theatre dvd player (which is a playstation 2) it gives me the error message "TV System does not match". The first thing I suspected was the region code so I checked it in dvd decryptor and it says region 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8. So I'm wondering if what else could cause this error message. Any ideas?

DVD is PAL and PS2 can only play NTSC or vice versa.

Ahh makes sense. Are there dvd players that play both formats? What about televisions?

Thanks for the tip. I'll figure out how to convert to NTSC.

However, you can buy a cheap Apex-like player that would play PAL on NTCS TV, usually after firmware upgrade. Multi-system TV are rare and very expensive in North America.

Hey Dimmer thx for the reply. I was kind of hoping there was a way to convert the movie to NTSC standard and avoid purchasing any new hardware. I have started a new thread on the topic if you have any insight.

There is already a bunch of threads on the topic, and all of them conclude that there is no "ideal" or "accurate" way to do so. Yet the conversion still takes hours. I tried a few times myself and decided not to bother since the price of a new DVD player nowadays is about US $50 if not less.
