Ok everbody,

Since we all have daily doom9 MP3 downloading/RIAA bashing announcement, I took it upon myself to tell you all about allofmp3 and other russian downloading sites. A perfectly legal alterantive to filesharing, allofmp3 is a russian site that will sell music legally anywhere in the world for the amount of mb you download. Every mb you download costs $0.01 US. That means you can get a gigabyte of music for just $10.00 US. It encodes the raw music data online, so you can choose between MP3, OGG, MP4-AAC, MPC or Loseless codecs. I jut downloaded a whole album in 192kbps VBR LAME MP3 for 75c. How cool is that?

Btw, it also encodes in WMA and not from raw wave data, but from 384 kbps source. It costs double to encode from raw wave data or loseless.

I really don't understand why they chose 384kbps. It doesn't work on most decoders. So when you download the original 384kbps you got a useless file. And when you get the transcoded file you get a horrible quality file.
I will never download anything from that site, even if it would be free. :sly:

For just $0.02 cents US instead of $0.01, you can encode from the wave instead of the 384 kbps, but it's not availiable on some albums. Btw, I encode from 384 all the time, and I get really good quality.
