Yes very weird, I didn't get an email from them either.

Anyway thanks for the notification.

Nor did I and this looks like an important change.

I wonder if this contributed to the error# 0004's which seemed to be more prevalent among Basic users.

I just went to my account download page and as of last night, visible light was still only offering the 2.69.01.08 version for download...

are the 'updates' possibly located at another site?

Check cinemacrafts's site

http://www.cinemacraft.com/eng/download.html#basic

I never received a notification from them for the last two updates either. Wonder why ? Do they only send notifications for "major" releases ?

Any success/failure stories using this latest CCE-Basic with DVD-RB?

I have been using all of the versions of CCE-Basic since 2.67.01.19 with Rebuilder with no problems. On the first encode with this latest version, I got an error '55' file already open error in DVD-RB 0.52 about 15% into the encode. I restarted the encode from the "paused" state and it appeared to continue OK. I am now in the process of re-encoding the entire DVD again to see if this error repeats.

Maybe a fluke ???

Well, the encode finished OK, but after the rebuild process completed, my desktop icons disappeared. Had to reboot. Seems that there could be some "issues" with this rev of Basic...

OS is XP Home.

No idea why yours is behaving in such a way. I did a dvd last night with the new version with no problems.

Thanks jdobbs.

Hmmm... Well that's 3 with no issues.

Must be something peculiar to my setup, though I have never had ANY problems with any of the previous versions of CCE/DVD-RB (or any other software for that matter).

I'll try a few more backups. If the same weirdness occurs, I'll try reverting back to an earlier video driver (I updated to the Catalyst 4.6 drivers for my 9800pro a week ago) and/or removing the Intel Application Accelerator (Busmaster Drivers) and see what happens. It's not too bad, the rebuild goes OK and I can burn a backup, but the "side effects" are worrying me... up to this point, this has been the most stable platform I have ever had.

One of the things I've noticed sometimes causes these weird errors is when I accidentally cause an abort of an encoding by hitting a key. DVD-RB just keeps on going with the remaining segments and it isn't obvious that one of them has been corrupted.

I humbly suggested this with regard to RBFarm, but a sanity check during rebuild for the frame length of segments would be great. I have no idea if that's hard or easy to do, but would come in handy.

I'll see what I can do.
