Reading some of the guides on converting SVCD to divx and am curious as to how you finish it off. I reached the end of the guide and am unclear how to burn this to a cd. What particular format should I use (i.e. directory structure). I am trying to get this to play on my ps2 which I have read plays divx.

If I read that it plays divx movies, does this mean it has to be on a dvd-rom or can the ps2 (and other dvd players for that matter) play divx movies off of a cd?/

hi,
usually all you have to do is burn the divx into the root directory! exteranl subs or chapter files need to have the exact same name as the main movie file! (if a ps2 supports these kinds of features)

anyway, just to decrease the chance of not being able to play it, make sure that you use a short filename (maybe less than 8 chars, no spaces and no special characters!)

oh and yes, dvd players and ps2 should be able to read from a normal cd. anyway, i'm not completely sure about the ps2 as i do not own one of these!

cheers

THx Steve, that was exactly what i was looking for. I read a compatability chart that someone posted and according to it the PS2 can play divx but not s/vcd. :(

I just got my dvd burner so I plan on testing the poop out of it in the next few days with every kind of video file imaginable. Thx again for the help!
