Merge titles with Nero Recode

Hi,

I want to bakcup a Friend season on DVD. A season is 24 episodes, so I want to put 8 episodes per DVD. However, each original DVD is a flipper disc, so I made .iso files of each side thanks to DVD Decrypter, and then I want to transcode them with Nero Recode 2.

So, I have 8 titles (4*2) and I want to merge them. But I can merge the 4 first together, or the 4 last, but not the 8 together...

Does anybody can help me ?

when i read this the first thing that came to mind was the Beatles and how they took a 4 track then mixed that into one channel of another 4 track having three more tracks left to use(and i'm not old enough to have seen them.:))
so basically just combined the two four titles making two big ones(with no compression 100%)and then merge the two big ones making one really big title. try that and see if it works if not then you might have to use vobedit to join them.

Still doesn't work, Nero refuse to merge the 2 big titles :/

then you have to use vobedit to join.
rename to VTS_01_001.VOB, VTS_01_002.VOB.. and so on Open up VTS_01_001.VOB with VobEdit Edit / Join CellVob files and then save.

However, it's strange that Recode can't merge these 2 titles

I used DVDShrink to get 8 VOB's from the 8 episodes and then used DVDLAB to create a menu linking to each episode. I used a scan of the original box that has all 8 episodes listed as my menu background that linked to each episode

worked great for the first 2 DVD's but I only did 1 as I couldn't be bothered to backup the complete set as I don't really burn DVD's :)

Does anyone find any differences between Nero Recode mergeing, dvd2one joining titles, clonedvd, etc. Do they approach it in the same way, is the transition smoother in one compared to another in your experience. I plan on playing with the all..just like to hear some personal experiences with merging titles together.

I've never been able able to Merge anything in Recode (20018). The Merge button never activates. Is there some trick to it?

you have to select the titles by highlighting one and then press control(Ctrl) and then highlight another title for the merge button to become active. see the doom9 guide on recode 2.

I've just merged Star Wars 1 & 2 but kept both original menu/sub menu's and I presume you could use the same method for the Friends DVD's seeing as the flippers have similar structures just as SW has

the DVD plays just as if I had swapped DVD's and for anyone who has DVDRemake Pro then here is the way I did it
