Hi Everyone,
Using DVDShrink, Img burn tool and Nero 6.3, I was backing up videos in about 14 mins. But after an OS crash and reinstall a back up takes about 56 mins Off hand I think I was burning at 4X and now I'm burning at 1X. Is there a setting that I've forgotten? Any suggestions? Comments? Tia.

Hi,

looks like you forgot to enable DMA mode for your burner.

Thanks MvB,
I'm going to try that. The reason I didn't enable DMA when I reinstalled was that I got a system warning claiming that Nero might become unstable if DMA was enabled.
Thank-you

Nero becoming unstable when DMA is enabled! This is nonsense. I've been using Nero for years now aswell as DMA and I haven't encountered a single problem.

anyway, please use a more descriptive thread title next time!

I agree killingspree! But the warning did give me pause. I don't know why but after turning on DMA my computer wouldn"t start. I thought I was going to have to reinstall but I got in with the startup disk and entering safe mode. I didn't really do anything there consciously, just entered and browsed for problems. After leaving safe mode I restarted and everything was fine. It's a mystery to me but I'm satisfied with the results. Please accept my apology for not being descriptive enough on the subject line. The warning actually didn't mention nero but refered to possible hardware problems. At any rate, turning on DMA did the trick and I'm back up to speed again. Thanks for the assist MvB.
