3ivx 'new release' questions

In the spirit of... "if you don't ask, you don't get". May I ask what you guys are planning for the next release?

Will there be any further ASP implementations, such as B-VOP (or multiple B-VOP's)?

.MP4 output maybe :D ... you know!

Current internal version of 3ivx has got qpix, custom matrixes and b-frames encoding working. We also have our mp4-swiss-knife dshow application already fairly kewl: capture, transcoding, tramsmuxing, editing, ... And of course, tons of super-top-secret-that-even-bond-isn't-aware-of features =)

That's really great news! An editing tool would definitely simplify my life, as I'm using mp4 (with aac audio) to process my captures!

Maybe with some bugfix (if there is some bug to fix ;)) or just a bigger number at the end of the version

I am using 3ivx for converting tvsat records to avi/mp4.
HDTV records using DVD2AVIT3 and 3ivx, for another cases VDM and 3ivx. So far i am happy with results, especialy with 1 pass mode, to compare to another codecs.
So that is the reason why I am looking for new release with impatience.

Yust a very little feature request for installer:

I have MP4 files asociated with Media Player Classic, but the 3ivx installer will steal the extension and asociate mp4 with WMP 6.4 and use another icon automatically.
Could this behavior of the installer be changed, that the player is selectable in the installer and that there is a option not to change extensions at all?

If you installed the latest version of NeroVision Express (nve21216) you will find it will hijack all of 3ivx's settings and icons. And although Nero's latest release is better than previous versions. It's not quite there yet!

This problem is common with most applications!That doesn´t mean 3ivx cannot do it better. RealPlayer already does, it doesn´t steal your extensions automatically anymore.
If you installed the latest version of NeroVision Express (nve21216) you will find it will hijack all of 3ivx's settings and icons. And although Nero's latest release is better than previous versions. It's not quite there yet!I only have the first packet of Nero installed, because it includes all (even more) I need.
But I noticed their crappy DirectShow Filters now playing (or more crashing) MP4. I had to unregister and delete (nero seems to re-register them) them to get mp4 working normal again.

Are we getting even a bit closer? Or has death come to 3ivx? (no pun intended :D)

PS: OK, questions I really wanted to ask ;): I'm particularly interested in 3ivx's performance at lower bitrates (quantizer 6) and at lower resolutions (320 x 240) for animated content. Also, Is the N-VOP implementation decent (in other words, any bit at all better than XviD's rather shabby one)? As for "B-frames," are you referring to multiple consecutive B-frames or single B-frame insertion (IPBPBP)? Any note on updates to the filter suite (AVC de-/muxing)? An "insane" quality mode? DivX profile compliance? Subjective quality increases? Speed changes? Any other new extra features in the mix? Sorry to be a bother, but I guess it's been quite a while with no updates (at all) and I was just getting a bit anxious. If you'll excuse me, ladies and gentlemen *bow* :)

Dude, I have written them off as a possiblity anymore. I bought 4.5.1 and kept hearing to expect a new version with some mp4 swiss knife type shit and it never happened. Its a good codec but it has been severely passed by all of its competitors. Its just a shame they havent kept up with their codec.

Bitrate control when using 3ivx dual-pass has been all messed up since Tiger & Quicktime 7 on the Mac. They havent fixed it yet, I start not to take them seriously anymore. Especially poor considering 3ivx costs money for many uses, and yet the support just doesnt seem to be there. Shame on 3ivx.
