View Full Version : Changing motion menu video
I'm removing logo from one cell of motion menu combinig it with foregin cell which doesn't have it. Now i have the final avi the way i want it, but what tool should i use to encode it and remux video back in menu? I was searching on the forum but couldn't find anything related to changing video in menu without reauthoring.

try there, 1 of 2cool's guides that explains how to remux. encode with whatever u want/have, although there were probs with cce and tmpgenc but i'm not sure they cause a problem every time. otherwise try rempeg2's video stream exchange tool. HTH
i know that guide... with both cce and tmpeg after remuxing (with vobedit) menus don't work correctly. But i haven't used tmpeg template... can i make it for particular menu with ifoedit??
I tried something with rempeg2.. first i have opened the original m2v file, then i renamed tmpeg encoded file into name of file loaded in rempeg, and then i hit encode button. That video stream after remuxing was playing fine in menu but the quality sucks (even at scale factor of 90% which is max).

did you try the actual video stream exchange tool on the tools tab?
should select the original vob, the new m2v and then choose an output location.
i'm not sure about tmpgenc templates, i think they just make sure that the video will be compliant
edit: just read on the post i linked to...

With TMPeg vobedit method works, if GOP structure is the same using the template created with ifoedit.

yeah, i tried video stream exchange but it crashes with tmpeg encoded video. Is there any other tool which can create tmpeg template for given video stream?
Finaly i had success with QuEnc :)
Setting the GOP size in quenc to match GOP size found in rempeg2 (when analyzing) i got good looking video which i was able to remux in vob with video stream exchange. And the result worked fine on both computer and standalone player.
