I am having problems with v 0.51 and up doing a reboot when using the one button setup. It gets 3/4 the way through cce encoding and then reboots. I reverted to 0.50b and it works fine using one button.

1.33 AMD
1meg mem
XP home

1meg mem? ;)

Encoding stresses the CPU (heat) and memory. The problem probably lies within those. Dont overclock, and make sure your CPU heatsink isnt dusty.

Yes, I don't overclock & I have a heat sink/fan setup built for overclocking the cpu never gets over 140deg F.. I would think it was the rigs fault except for the fact that an earlier version of rebuilder works fine.

The only instability I've noticed while using DVD-RB is sometimes windows explorer crashes, or the icons on the task bar disappear. It seems like some sort of icon cache corruption. This could be either DVD-RB itself or CCE/ECLCCE.

oops, 1 gig mem

I think its a bug in rebuilder that might only effect the older pre XP AMD chips. Version .50b runs fine, just the later versions that won't.

Check the CCE FAQ for problems with CCE and pre-XP Thunderbird Athlon's that don't have SSE capability. The fix is to upgrade your processor to at least an Athlon XP or Barton. :-)

Well, I needed a reason to upgrade. Now I have it! Thanks for the info, I didn't think of checking the CCE FAQ.
Just curious, why will it work with version .50 then? Is there a code change in the later versions that would cause CCE to hang using a Tbird?

Which CCE version do you use?

Maybe you used a different version when you didn't get these rebooting errors.

I tried first version 0.48 and later upgrade version over 0.50 and every version I tried cause same thing, rebooting. I use same programs and same settings. I use cce sp 2.67.0.23, avisynth 2.5.4 and decodefix100. My computer is Athlon XP-M 2600+ with 512M memory.

I have used all versions of RB, on both an XP+ 2000, and an Thunderbird 1400, and have never had problems with rebooting.
