I have a strange problem. When a dvd movie contains episodes and all the episodes shown to be merged in one big PGC what can i do to break it so i make avi each episode and keep permanent subtitles.

For example i tried AutoGk 1.25 with Gasaraki (Japanese animation). I choose to rip the right chapters of the PGC so i could rip only the episode i want but i only am getting subtitles out of the first episode.

thanx in advance

Hi-

You'll have to insert negative delays in the .idx file for each episode after the first one. For the second episode, you'll have to advance the subs (negatively delay them) by the length of the first episode. For the 3rd episode, you'll have to advance by the length of the first and 2nd episodes together, and so on. Then before encoding, run the Preview to make sure the subs are showing up correctly.

Another way is to encode them all at once, without splitting by chapters, and then split them yourself afterwards. But that doesn't work well unless there's a keyframe set where you want to split. And if there are fade-ins/outs at the beginning and end, then it won't work.

There are other ways to handle the problem when using GKnot, but you're limited in what you can do when using AutoGK.
