I've been having some wierd problem lately, even though I just re-installed Windows 2000. The computer just freezes up all of a sudden for no reason. However I know this is a video problem because the freezing has occured during video related events:
I double click a WMV file and as soon as Windows Media Player (7.1) launches, Windows freezes up.
I launch VirtualDub (actually VirtualDubMod) and before it can fully start, Windows freezes up.
Another time its frozen up was when I went to PowerDVD preferences and clicked on the Video tab.
Note however that it doesn't freeze up every time I do these things. It's random.
Any help will be appreciated.
I think the problem lies in DirectX or the video drivers. Maybe not. What do you think?
I have DirectX 9 installed. My video card is Nvidia RIVA TNT (16 MB).
