Newbie

Hello all,
I am a newbie to these forums and was referred to this site by some folks in another forum. I am wanting to take portions of one dvd and save it to a file so I can edit them and burn them onto another dvd.
I have no idea what that would take and my knowledge on DVD structures are very limited so I am needing to get cought up in this technology.

Actually there is a newbie forum here - your subject indicates that that maybe would be a better place to post ;)

Really, it shouldn't be so hard to find a guide for what you want. Try the main page (doom9.org) -> Guides -> DVD / miniDVD.

over on doom9.org there's also a couple of guides on dvd basics. you might start with those to get to know the structure of a dvd a little closer!
