Hi, I've taken a 448kbit AC3 file from 2 split AVIs which I've joined. I've run it through BeSplit to correct any join errors. I've encoded the original AVI with CCE at 720x480 23.976fps and run it through pulldown to bring it to 29.97fps. When I author with IfoEdit the resultant playback doesn't seem to have any timecoding(?) i.e. whenever I skip to a new chapter, it plays fine for a few seconds (audio synced etc) but the time doesn't count up on my DVD player. It then breaks-up/freezes. If I skip to the next chapter again it's fine for a few seconds etc etc. Help!
Redmist,
If the .avi's splitting was correct then to make one .avi file use VirtualDubMod and append second file to the first one. also there you can change frame rates.
Converting to DVD try to use Nero Express load 1-file, load 2-file set NTSC,set AUTOMATIC and report here the results.

The movie plays fine if I watch it from start to finish but if I FF or skip chapters, it goes completely out of sync. I'm sure it must be something to do with timecoding or something...
Again from the start point.
Open VirtualDubMod ,load 1-.avi, append 2-.avi.
Set in Video direct copy.
Save as .avi.
Check this new .avi file for reaction on fast forward, fast back, using slider on time line, and all this type tests with play, play stop and so on./look also on the time read out/
If all will be OK then we will go further

The AVI was fine - I authored the disc using a friend's copy of DVD Architect 2.0 and chapter skipping worked just fine (it didn't need recompress or anything.) I'm not sure what exactly was tripping up IfoEdit.
I'm guessing IfoEdit didn't like the combination of a 5.1 AC3 and a CCE encoded M2V.
