I am encoding w/xvid(latest release).I can run a compression check 5%-15% within GKnot w/no problem, but when I try to load a full encode stats file, all I get is "Unknown error..compressibility check failed" Are the compression gods angry with me?

it's simply not possible to load new XviD stats files for quite a while already... only vdenc.log can be loaded.

Sigh... that's what I get.. I have not encoded to AVI in sooo long that I have not kept up with ANYTHING.
I only recently started again when I saw some examples of just how good Xvid had become..I used it in it's infancy but went back to SBC because of the ease of use and quality control. Then I bought a DVD burner & everything changed & I did not encode anything to AVI anymore. I really haven't Used Gknot since TheWef gave it over to opensource.
Now I am really paying the price for it, trying to play catch up.
Thanks for the information And you really have done great job with it.
Unfortunately I have not.

Ok,I did a complete compression on Amistad. The 1st compression chk I did using 15% comp check allowed me to select a range of 80%.
which resulted in a rather large file. Cant complain about the quality at all though.
The caveat is, after loading the vdenc.log afterwards, instead of 80%
it gave me 286.8%.. If I am reading this correctly, then I SERIOUSLY overdid the bitrate on this movie. Am I following this correctly, or is there a step I missed in understanding how the log is used?
