Hi,

I have just discovered AutoGK and it is perfect for what I need to do. I get great quality and reasonable file size.

I am a DJ and subscribe to a service that provides me with a DVD every month that has about 40 misic videos on the disc. I want to be able to rip them to individual files. Using DVD Encrypter, do I need to rip each chapter (song) one at a time so that I will have individual files for each one or would it make more sense to rip the entire DVD into one big file and then go in a edit the big file into separate files? If the latter is the case, what program would you recommend to divide up the big file?

Thanks

Hi-

I think your first plan is the best. Rip by chapters (assuming that each chapter is a complete song, and one song only). Sure, it'll take a while to decrypt and set them all up, but the alternatives are just as time consuming. But at least, when all the setup work is done, thanks to AutoGK's queue feature, you can then relax while it encodes all 40, one after the other.

Another way is to encode the whole DVD at once and then split them yourself afterwards. This way will insure that they all have the same resolution and quality (assuming 2-pass encoding. You didn't say which you were using.) But you'll also need to have a keyframe set between each video for that to work, and that's by no means a given. If some of the videos have fadeins or fadeouts at the beginning or end, then it almost certainly won't work.
