I have one wmv9 file. Then i compress the wmv9 file to XviD via avs.First i was compressing the video but audio was disable, then i was compressing the audio(Microsoft PCM Format) to mp3(128Kbps VBR) when i finished to compress the video. So i separate one of video and audio file. Then i combined the video and audio,i open the video file then setting Direct Stream Copy, and i add the audio file at stream list. Finally,i save the file as avi.But when i was playing the avi file, the audio and video have been unmatched.I don't know what's the problem, and how can i solve this problem?

Could someone help me?
what does "unmatched" mean? sync problems?
if yes is the wmv9 stream in sync with the audio?
did you encode the audio via .avs (sorry if this is a dumb question, i never played around with avisynths audio features)?
is the sync mismatch growing when you play the file or is it constantly out of sync by the same length?

Thankyou very much for your reply.
Q.what does "unmatched" mean? sync problems?
A.I means video and audio were not playing at the same time.
Q.if yes is the wmv9 stream in sync with the audio?
A.I don't know waht you mean,sorry.
Q.did you encode the audio via .avs (sorry if this is a dumb question, i never played around with avisynths audio features)?
A.yes,i did.I use full compressing mode to do this(Sound--->MP3) in VDM.
Q.is the sync mismatch growing when you play the file or is it constantly out of sync by the same length?
A.The sync is mismatch growing when i play the file.it means video and audio was playing(asynchronous).

A.I don't know waht you mean, sorry.i mean, are you sure that audio and video in the wmv9 play at the same time?

A.The sync is mismatch growing when i play the file.it means video and audio was playing(asynchronous).than it seems that there is a problem with the framerate of the video
what framerate does the wmv and the xvid stream have?

A.Yes.I play the wmv9 file that the video and audio was playing at the same time.

A.WMV's framerate is 23.970(not23.976??)And i compressed the XviD that i have't changfps of video(The framerate same as wmv.).

or said the other way round: does the wmv stream have the same length as the xvid one?
if the mismatch grows when playing, the wmv doesnt have the same framerate/length as xvid

XviD' framerate have 23.970.The wmv still have the same length as xvid. So,i don't know what's the problem.

try encoding the audio to mp3 on another way

Sorry,i have some mistake.XviD' framerate have 23.970.After the WMV file was compressed,(it haven't the same length as xvid). And i try much more time to compress the audio and combined them, the file(XviD) is asynchronous when i was playing it.How can i solve this problem? And,which softwares are useful to compress audio?
Thank you for helps.

it haven't the same length as xvidif the xvid stream doesnt have the same length as the wmv stream than you did something wrong during video encoding OR the wmv stream is variable framerate, in this case you can not convert to xvid without sync issues as VFW and AVI is not able to handle vfr

I believe that the wmv file stream can not convert to XviD.But,which type of video can i convert then the problem will be solved?
And,why the wmv9 file have 23.970fps(not 23.976,29.970,30)??Is it have any resons?

I think the problem stems from using VBR for your mp3 stream. They are known to cause sync problem when using Vdub to mux them in an avi container. Try changing to CBR & things should be fine.

I try to compress the audio to CBR,but also it doesn't work that it same as VBR mp3 stream. So,the problem still can't to solve.
