sharing cd-/dvdburner

Hi!
I've two Pc's attached using P2P, and sharing files with each other. One is running windows98 SE and has an extern (USB2) cd burner and the other is running XP pro. The second one with XP does not have any USB port.
My question is: is there any way to get access to the burner from the pc running XP?

N0, you can't do that, But why would you want to do such a thing, if you want to burn something, you can add any files from both computer since they both connected to one network. If you are "too lazy" to get up and come to the computer that has CDRW - you can remotly manage it's destko p from second computer:), But there's one thing you cannot do remotely - you HAVE to put a blank cd in order to burn;)

I've searched the web without any useful information on the subject.

The reason I want to share the burner is every time I want to get access to the 98-pc I have to move the monitor, keyboard and mouse connected to the xp-pc. And this is getting quite boring.

Is there any software (free) I must install to remotely manage the desktop of the first pc? Any link describing the process you could refer?

Windows XP Pro has a built in remote desktop feature. You can install the remote desktop client on the win98 computer using the 'perform other tasks' option. (the option appears when you run the setup on the win XP disk while in windows) You could use the 98 machine as your main PC and remotely manage the XP machine. If you can, install win XP as the OS instead of win 98 for the older machine.
