Hi all,

This is my first post on this forum, though I've used doom9 extensively for some months now trying to get great quality backups of NTSC DVD's. When I use virtualdubmod (1.5.10.1 b. 2439) to interleave ac3 audio (demuxed from DVD2AVIdg 1.77.3dg1.0.0RC2) with the correct offset entered to an xvid 1.0 final video, the resulting *.avi seems to have the audio a little bit AHEAD of the video throughout the movie. I noticed this when i heard a gunshot before i saw the flash. I checked the original and the a/v are in sync there. I can delay the audio about 50ms in MPC and the avi seems to be roughly in sync then, but i was wondering if anyone knew about this and could give me some more info? thanks a lot for your time.

Using B-frames without packed bitstream makes the video lag one frame behind (the infamous "b-frame lag" message you get via VfW), that's roughly 33ms. Maybe that's it?

np: Robert Lippok - Readymade (Falling Into Komeit)

But I have the "Packed bitstream" option enabled on both the first and second passes and stored the video as an avi. I don't get the b-frame decoder lag, but maybe it's something related? I set the audio lag to 33ms instead of 50 and it seems to be perfectly in sync, but like i said, PB is enabled.
