Hi,

I have very recently begun using auto gordion knot, and for the most part, am very impressed with program; it crashes less often than the program i was using prior to it (DVDx) and the results are very impressive. respect.

However, I do have a few suggestions for making the program more user friendly. Firstly, I feel the program lacks an obvious progress indicator (Some sort of clearly identifiable progress bar, percentage complete, whatever). As it stands, although the log window has all of the information that is needed, it does not stand out the way I feel it should. If nothing else, there should at least be a clear indication that something is happening, beyond an extra menu in the start bar.

Not convinced? Check out the "Nielson Guide to User Interface", a very well-known study on effective ui design.

Anyway, thank you for reading this, I hope you are not offended by my suggestion.

Hi and welcome to the forum-

You can always bring up VDubMod while the video encoding is going on. Then, in the upper left corner, where it says "Dub In Progress", hit that and check "Show Status Window". If you're running 2 passes, then it's going to go through that twice.

I had noticed that, however I feel a universal progress meter would be of more use.

I'm worried there might be technical problems, AGK is not the program that does actually process the files but only those programs know such things

the only progress AutoGK could show is very descrete steps and as encoding itself takes a lot of time then progress will be the same for several hours, which imho destroys the purpose of the progress display.

Fair enough. I just think that it would be nice if there was a clear indication that something was happening; the number of times my flatmates have unwittingly stuffed up an encode because they didnt know the program was doing anything is staggering.
