Have two large AVI files, I am trying to join using VIRTUAL DUB. When I try and join them I get an error message that says NO VIDEO FRAMES. Here's what I did...OPen VIRTUAL DUB, THEN VIDEO an selected DIRECT STREAM COPY, then AUDIO for DIRECT STREAM/SOURCE AUDIO. Then when I open the OPEN VIDEO FILE ..I get error...NO FRAMES IN MPEG FILE. Just trying to join two avi files into one large writeable file...any easier way to do this...hmmmmmmmmm
topazbest,
after opening first file try to append the second file

Cannot open the first file, or any file...keep getting the error message. Maybe some other program could do this? Sorry to be a pain...
open first video add audio stream, both set for direct coping.
IN video folder > frame rate monitor( see) what value is set for frs.
Save this file as video1.avi
The same do with another file.
Then load again Video1.avi and try to append to it the second Video2.avi file

uhm, first, your file isnt avi but MPEG and probably MPEG2 at that. you cannot join MPEG-files with VDub and you only can open MPEG2 files in VirtualDubMod or VirtualDub-MPEG2...
unless you do re-encoding this is a no go, or you should find a MPEG joiner (TMPGEnc perhaps?)
