View Full Version : DVD Shrink Failures...

I get a lot of failures when I use DVD Shrink, about 1 in 10 attempts.

What is most frustrating is when it has spent 2 hours encoding a DVD and fails on the burn attempt. I know it is not the DVD media that is at fault, failed DVD later successfully burn.

Is there a way to go straight to burn with DVD Shrink?

During failures to burn I have the DVD files saved on my drive. Up to this point I have had to reload the source DVD and spend another 2 hours re encoding (and replacing the identical files) for another attempt, usually the second try always works.

But I'd love to bypass the second encoding if possible and just load the files on my drive and go straight to burn.

Can it be done?

Make sure that you have a folder that has two other folders inside it. One named AUDIO_TS and another named VIDEO_TS (both names in Capitals). Put your encoded files inside the VIDEO_TS folder.

Use imgtools classic to make an iso and burn, the iso, with decrypter.

u r done.

1st: What version of DVD Shrink are you using?
2nd: What are you using to burn the Disc?
3rd: Under the DVD Shrink Preferences (The File I/O section) are any of the burn settings checked.

And lastly:

There is a great DVD Shrink walkthrough over at http://www.dvdshrink.info/guides.php

DVD Shrink314

I'm using DVDShrink for the burn. It encodes the DVD, ejects teh original, then requests a blank and then I burn the DVD.

I don't know if any burn settings are checked. Should they be?

The latest DVD Shrink is v3.1.7, you might want to download that one.

The odd thing is, Shrink doesn't burn disks as far as I know or have ever heard said. It will however use DVD Decrypter if the burn with nero isn't checked.

If you have Decrypter installed you might consider downloading the latest version of that as well. That would be 3.2.2.0 I believe.

I tend to burn my images manualy using nero so that I can burn at 2x.

DVDShrink.info has a nice walkthrough on the preference settings as well. http://www.dvdshrink.info/preferences.php
