When encoding with XviD, does it use XviD default configuration, it's own
defaults or it modifies settings for xvid according to the movie?
thanks

Hi-

This forum is for AutoGK, GKnot, and R4R. So, does what use XviD defaults? AutoGK? No, it has its own settings, and can change the Matrix used, depending on the results of the compress test. But I think you must be referring to GKnot. It uses the XviD defaults. You can set up your own defaults in the Options Tab. And, of course, you can change anything you want for each movie.

Personally, I would recommend getting rid of the default Packed Bitstream and the default Minimum Quant 1.

sorry, due to my very poor english i copied that question from http://groups.google.it/groups?hl=it&lr=&ie=UTF-8&selm=bv6gr9%24nqe%241%40bagan.srce.hr and I forgot to say that it was an autogk question.
I hope you understand my confused words :)
Thank you

Hi Giovanni-

No problem. I answered the AutoGK question in my first reply. AutoGK uses its own custom settings. I think that the only one it changes from movie to movie might be the Matrix. It will use the less compressible HVS_Best, or the more compressible HVS_Better, depending on the results of the compression test.

Perhaps it is the time to incorporate Jawor's matrix in to AutoGK..

I'm getting better shapness with jawors than hvs_best under lower bitrates. :)
