Hello,

Before to answer me please read carefully.

I think well of high fidelity because i set great store by their products.
My system:
- Icos elsberg 270 ( integrated amplifier);
- Linn ikemi ( CD Player );
- Esprit ( modulation cables);
- Wireworld equinoxe ( hp cables );
- Thiel 2.4 ( speakers )

Besides, i use my PC as link for A/N processing ( wave corrector 3.0 and TRacks-24 for the mastering ), and mixing sound ( Soundforge 7.0 and Acid pro 4.0 for the preparation and Traktor dj studio 2.53 for the mixs).
My system:
-Asus p4g8x deluxe, p4 2.4ghz, Ati 9700 pro, 512*2 mo DDR 266, pinnacle studio dv 8.0, terratec dmx 6 fire, 320 go SATA 150.

My question:
With supplied datas, i would like to know if a sound card USB HD exist; an alternative of my Terratec from my PC and particularly for my future lap-top computer which will be used for mixing during dances.

Thanks for your answers

One place you could check out are Creative's usb external sound cards.

AFAIK Creative seems to be a leader in audio cards in general, so I would check them out.

I'd be wary of creative cards, especially if you're looking for a high quality home theater card. Their cards tend to have constant trouble with AC3 pass through and driver issues, as well as having a tendency to resample output to 48KHz, and the resampling algorithm has been reported to be far from high quality. For more information on the AC3 issues see the AC3 FAQ, for more about the resampling problems search on www.hydrogenaudio.org

As far as home theater soundcards go: For highest quality, M-Audio is a good choice, and they offer the Sonica Theater (http://www.m-audio.com/index.php?do=products.main&ID=eee876ef2e6cbb4ac377f83c406e8885), a very full featured 7.1 USB audio card.

Edit: Also the M-Audio Audiophile USB (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=29-121-107&depa=0).

For more economic sound cards, you may want to take a look at CMedia-based chipsets, there are many manufacturers that use these chips. I don't recall at the moment if there are any USB cards based off CMedia chips. Cheers,

Hello,

Tank you for two answers.

However Angelus creative's card extigy is the one provide USB port.
But it's not suitable for myself because i'am not interesting about an extension theater and i am founding so limited.

Secondly, Kpex i approved of your argument but i am searching a pure card only for audio.The price is not a problem.
If you know another card tell me i'am very interesting.

See you soon ;) ;)
