View Full Version : VDubMod: I delete clips, but the audio isn't removed

So I'm capturing TV shows ... I'm using the ATI VCR program to record an MPEG2 of shows. Then I import into VDubMod and delete the commercials, and export to an xvid AVI.
Problem: the audio isn't deleted, so after the first deleted commercial, the sound is completely messed up.
Any ideas about how to fix that, and while I'm at it, are there any other obvious things I'm missing?

with VDM 1.5.4 i have no such problems, audio is deleted too.
only thing that can happen if you is that you make unclean cuts the audio can make a chirp at cuts... what is exactly your method of deleting frames? do you re-encode the audio?

Well, I find the first frame of the commercial, hit the "begin selection" button, find the first frame of the next section, hit the "end selection" button, and hit delete.
Then when saving, I just do Save as AVI, making sure the video codec isn't raw. :)
VDubMod doesn't have an audio menu, so I haven't been monkeying with that, and my method /used/ to work ... I just don't know what changed.

the audio menu is in streams-->streams list (right click on the streams for the menu)
other then that i find this rather peculiar... it should work...
have you tried normal VDub?

The MP3 audio stream does show up in the streams list. AFAIK it just includes the source stream now instead of clipping bits out.
Normal VDub won't import MPEG2 files.
