Because neuron2 is not { able / willing } to support backwards compatibility in DecodeFix 1.30 / DGMPGDec (see this thread (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=76656)), I would thank you very much if you could be able to support the totally new d2v file format in upcoming versions of GordianKnot & Co.

Currently, GK tells me "This is not a valid d2v project..." due to the different version string, when trying to open such a new project file.

It already does. Have a look here: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=75661

Oh - I obviously forgot to update the "custom mpeg2dec plugin" option to "DGDecode.dll"...
__

No, it doesn't work. I have GordianKnot 0.28.8, and when I press the "Open" button in the lower left corner, if won't load a *.d2v file created with DGIndex.exe - and as far as I can see, there is no official update to GordianKnot since 7th April.

you _have_ to have correct mpeg2dec3.dll in GK folder (so that you _rename_ whatever dll you're using). just changing setting won't help.

So you say that the DLL name "mpeg2dec3.dll" is hardcoded into GordianKnot, and I have to rename the AviSynth plugin I want to use to "mpeg2dec3.dll"? I'd prefer if you could read the DLL name from the edit line in the Options tab and use the entered filename for the DLL to be used - this would be much more compatible for someone who likes to experiment with many different versions: I always have to close GordianKnot when I rename DLLs, because it locks this file as long as it runs.

Please read about the difference between early and late binding (loading the DLL at application start vs. loading and releasing DLLs on-the-fly), this worked well for me in Delphi; or tell me the reason why late binding would not work in GordianKnot (which I don't see at the moment: the DLL should be loaded when pressing "Open" and should be released when closing the project).

I agree with LigH..itīs a damn that you always have to rename the dllīs and additional closing GK.
Why there is the option in GK for choosing an alternative mpeg2dec.dll if we can just take the MPEG2Dec3.dll name?

I plead for a user friendly correction!

Plead whaterver you like. There will be no coding for GK from me during summer. Futher discussion about it will result in thread closure.

P.S. noone is working on GK atm (in fact noone did apart from me and tHegLouCh at some point in the past) so there is no GK "team".

So then, at least: Thank you for telling me what I have to do at the moment; and I'll keep hoping for further development as soon as someone has more time to spend. Please don't be angry if my question sounded too demanding (English is not my native language, I don't always feel correctly if someone may get offended by my stile). ;)

Nevertheless: Fun and success! :D

My post was preventive (before everyone jumps in with "can you update GK for this and that" ) and by any means was not targeted at you.
