DVDShrink closes when clicking on Backup

I have used the old version of DVD Shrink for some time now, I recently downloaded the latest version and I am unable to backup anything. Everything works as it should until I click the Backup button. This causes Shrink to close instead of prmpting me for the save location.
I am using a Compaq PC with an Athlon XP 2600 processor, 256MB of DDR ram and a 80Gb disk. The disk is partitioned into three dives and all drives have at least 40% free space.
I have tried uninstalling shrink and installing older versions, even the version that previously worked will not work now.
Any ideas you can give me would be greatly appreciated, the only thing I can think of is to re-install Windows, and thats too much hassle as I have lots to backup.

try to restore your computer to a previous date that u know shrinked worked. Probably a registry error is causing it.

I have figured out what the problem is.

I screwed up my system, and ended up having to format the disk. I then tried Shrink and it worked. I also realised I did not have Nero installed so I installed Nero and tried using Shrink. Bam... Same thing happens. Shrink closes when I click backup. I uninstalled Nero and tried Shrink and it worked. I am using Nero5 I think. I'm going to get a newer version of Nero to see if that works.
