View Full Version : Fixing movie to play on standalone?

I have a movie in a VIDEO_TS folder on my HD. It plays on the computer using SW players, but burning it to a DVD-RW using any of my usual methods doesn't work. Nero can (of course) burn it, but it isn't playable on a standalone DVD player. CloneDVD2 can't even open it - gives the error message "NavigationPack 0 VOBU 4 1774296 199 Picturereader".

I tried to use DVD Decrypter to see if it could fix it. Using File Mode gave a copy with the same error, using IFO mode resulted in something totally unusable (can be because some error I did, of course)...

Any suggestions?

Try performing a mock strip in IfoEdit. You'll have to open each IFO file, click VOB Extras, check Strip VobID, Correct Vob-Unit and Correct original IFO. When you press OK and it prompts you for the streams to keep, check all. It often cures many problems, but you may also have to do the same using Menu Extras button to clean up the menu VOBs.

Thanks, I'll look into that solution.
